The circumstance of this installation was to work within urban space, an abandoned paper factory. There was this very tiny room, a square with a huge rectangular window. I spent time in this room, getting inside the atmosphere of this specific space. It was very silent and left a feeling that time was completely still, this was enhanced by the hypnotic light. I wanted the audience to experience a similar moment and to awaken self reflection. I created a piece inspired by the very idea of a treatment situation, a chair. Inside the head of the chair is the sound of a calm mans voice, a therapeutic monologue. Audience reactions were ambivalent. Some peoples experience were very unpleasant with associations to psychiatric treatments or death penalty, others felt calmed and experienced great comfort and relief.
